How to Make Chocolate Using Molds


Gone are the days whey you required to visit the grocery store every now and then to purchase chocolate. The good news is that you can making chocolates using molds at home. All you require is to have some good ingredients and the materials. The most important sources to make chocolate are the molds. Molds are made of plastic. You can easily purchase these from everywhere. Most of these may cost you more then a dollar.

Once you have purchased the mold of your choice, you need to purchase the raw chocolate. It is widely available in any of the craft stores. Raw chocolate is available in a variety of flavors and colors. This would make it easy for you to mix them up later on.

While making chocolate using molds, you have great space to show you creativity. These are two primary ways to melt chocolate while making chocolate using molds. The first is to cut the block. Here, you need to cut it in to small pieces and put them in to a microwave safe bowl. However, you may not be able to see whether all the chocolate has melted in a microwave. If this is the problem, you can use a double boiler.

A double boiler contain two different pans. The first pan has a hot water and the other one is smaller that placed on top. The chocolate is placed on the topmost pan. You need to stir in the chocolate until it melts. Once the chocolate comes in a liquid form you are ready for your mission of making chocolate using molds. Pour the chocolate in to the mould.

It is very important to tap the bottom to retrieve air bubbles out of the chocolate or else these will be left with a lot of holes once they are out of the freezer. In case, you decide to include some marsh mallows or candy sprinkles while making chocolates using molds, it is best to pour them into the boiler. You need to keep the chocolate inside the freezer for about ten minutes prior to taking it out.

The best indicator is to check the bottom of the mold and see whether the chocolate is holding on to the mold. Making chocolate using molds is easy if you keep in mind certain tips. In case, your chocolate is ready, just flip it over and then tap it gently so that it can land on a smooth and soft surface such as a napkin. This will prevent it from breaking. Another method is to pour water on the mold.

Incase, it doesn't flip over easily, put the mold back into the freeze. Making chocolates using molds also requires a vigilant eye for some errors. The best thing about making chocolate using molds is that in case, it breaks, you can easily recycle it. This prevents wastage. In case, you make a mistake while you are painting it. Do not touch it. Wait patiently until the chocolate freezes. This makes it very easy to remove.

As soon as your chocolate is ready, you can serve it as a part of your dessert. However, if you are presenting it as a gift to someone, make sure you get a beautiful box. It is important for the gift to look presentable to the recipient. Making chocolate using molds can also create a bond of love. The molds you used can be used again in future. In order to maintain these molds well do not wash these with soap as it will remove its slickness.

Make sure you dry the mold after washing to get rid of the spots. Making chocolate using molds need a bit of care to the molds as well. However, if you find the mold to be sticky, try coating it lightly with some vegetable oil prior to pouring in the melted chocolate. Making chocolate using mold is great fun. You may not achieve perfection the first time but practice will definitely help you.
